DJ & Producer

Consider the future as the web unwinds some of the fastest-growing technology known since its invention. These days DJs are incorporating the creation of music and also playing live online.

This kind of business involves live-streaming DJ sets, writing reviews and being active on social media. The internet is a huge resource where momentum for setting up your own studio and playing live is far more feasible.

If you have a passion for creating music and a passion for big beats you can create and perform your own sets both online and live to an audience.

It’s also possible to play music created by others at raves and other events.

There’s a huge chance if your music dictates the uprisal of other musicians’ work you could be paid royalties under contract.

That’s the beauty of dropping other producers’ beats to your audience, chances are other budding DJs will want to purchase the tunes. So where does this all start?

A Breakdown of DJS that Gained Momentum Via Online Promotion

Here’s a list of DJs that started as a basis for making music via online promotion that you might want to research.

  • Tiësto
  • Armin van Buuren
  • Hardwell

  • Dash Berlin
  • Above & Beyond
  • Markus Schulz
  • Paul van Dyk
  • Ferry Corsten

I will cover these DJs more in the next few weeks so keep your eyes peeled to learn more on my blog stream.

Event Promoter

It’s a tough job, however rewarding when a night becomes all the talk online. ravers these days talk online. Where have you been? What were the DJs like? Which was your favourite set? What was the atmosphere like?

These questions are all related to the night you have promoted. Feel proud? If it all amounts to positive answers your job is done. There’s nothing better than promotional success when 1000’s are involved.

If you enjoy promoting events and bringing people together, you could become an event promoter. This can involve organizing and promoting raves via your reporting media business or head of events for a rave organisation.

Event Coordinator

Taking into consideration coordinating raves means working closely with promotors where much can be done online. You’ll need to be hands-on in coordinating the logistics of raves.

On the night of the rave, you’ll be managing vendors, coordinating security, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly. This is more for those that can work closely with the public and business workforce.

Did you coordinate this rave below? This was taken 7 years ago but represents how much fun the coordinators can have when organising security. You just have to see it from the raver’s point of view.

Lighting and Sound Technician

Managing the lighting and sound systems at raves and other events, as well as troubleshooting technical issues needs certification. However, if you are keen on raves to gain traction on being qualified for events.

the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), which offers online exams for electrician certification. The NECA exam covers a range of topics, including electrical theory, circuitry, motors and generators, and electrical safety.

Another example is the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI), which offers online exams for electrical inspector certification. The IAEI exam covers topics such as electrical code requirements, grounding and bonding, and electrical safety practices.

Taking into account lighting, sound and visual effects are the leading reasons for ravers to kick into free space and have a good time it’s considered the most important job from a promotors point of view.

Visual Artist

If you have a talent for creating visual art, you could become a visual artist specializing in electronic dance music events. This can involve creating visuals, projections, and other multimedia elements for raves and other events.

You could incorporate visual themes projected out from lasers like the Prodigy of Keith Flint now he has passed away. They display a full image of Kieth for the ravers to remember.

If you create your work this can involve creating visuals, projections, and other multimedia elements for raves and other events. Once you have become fully established it’s time to move around as word gets out fast.

Fashion Designer

If you are interested in fashion, you could become a fashion designer specializing in rave wear and other electronic dance music-inspired clothing. You can read my internal post about ravewear and the knowledge to dress to impress.

Bearing in mind raves are all about open-mindedness so we don’t expect a dress code. In some ways the simpler the better due to the extreme heat and lack of dressing rooms.

Designing rave wear is exciting allowing us to experiment with new trends with the freedom to dress as we want. There is big money to be made as a rave fashion designer regardless of age, ethnic background or public status.

The dress-coder relates to comfort and being able to dance for 12 hours. Back in 1991, my top was off as soon as I got into the venue. I just let loose all my inhibitions and raved all night.
